Due to a generous bequest from Bob Naugle - former MPI actor and Board treasurer who passed away last fall, eight new double pane windows have been installed in our beloved building. Four windows replaced the original old windows in light alley, the back stairs and the two side windows in the front bell tower lobby. But most exciting, we replaced four original windows on the front and rear stairs that have been covered with plywood on the outside and on the inside by drywall and paneling since any of us can remember. What a difference! Steve Farley and I made new sills for the front stairs, Steve repaired and replaced the coved plaster around them, then he and Kim Woods painted.
On the landing leading down to the basement, we stripped off all the old 60’s paneling, Steve replastered the walls, we made baseboard to match the original, retrimmed the doorways, and Steve and Kim painted it all. They finished it off with carpet squares left over from the auditorium remodel.
Interested in helping organize the MPI costume closet? Join us Saturday, June 1 from 9am-1pm!

Last month we read a grueling play “Building the Wall”. This month we read another taxing play – but emotionally this time. “We Live Here” by Zoe Kazan was another dysfunctional family story set around a pending wedding. Some of the family history really interferes with its smooth running. Quite complex!
Our readers were: Maris Ryan and guest David Gill (Welcome!), Joyce and Art Kibby, Linda Callahan, Laura Hovland, Fred Rothzeid, John Nixon and yours truly.
Thank you all for the delicious snacks and good wishes for those celebrating Passover and Easter.
Our next reading will be Tuesday, May 21st. at 7.30 pm.
ACT/OCTAFest 2019 is set for June 20-22!
