Cast Announced!

Cast List Announced for The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)

thmb ShakespeareAbridgedDirector Tom Peters has announced the cast for the summer production of “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)”

Jay Benson – Adam
Joel Lind – Daniel
Aaron Whitehead – Jess

A small, madcap band of three actors, influenced by the likes of the Marx Brothers, the Three Stooges and the “Carol Burnett Show,” decide to tackle the impossible: to perform all 37 of Shakespeare’s plays in 90 minutes. Fast paced, witty and physical, this play is full of laughter for Shakespeare lovers and haters alike. It’s a Shakespearian mix of pratfalls, clunky female impersonators, clean-cut ribaldry, and broad burlesque.

MPI thanks all those who auditioned. All are encouraged to contact Tom Peters at This email address is being protected from spambots. The show will begin rehearsals on May 23 and performances will run Thursdays through Sundays, July 8 - 24, 2016.

In Memoriam

Dee DuneDee Dunn (1941 - 2016)

On February 14th, the Cincinnati theater community lost a dear friend when Dee Dunn passed away at the age of 74. Mariemont audiences would know her best as Betty from our September 2011 production of The Foreigner (pictured above). However, she also directed November 2013’s The Lion in Winter and costumed recent MPI productions such as You Can’t Take It With You and Chapter Two. A long-time member of CenterStage Players and The Drama Workshop, Dee was recognized by ACT-Cincinnati in June 2015 with the Art Rouse Award for her exceptional commitment and dedication to our theater community. As MPI member Burt McCollum puts it, “Dee embodied the best of what community theater strives to be. She was a crown jewel.” We will miss her deeply.
